When you unexpectedly fall into sin, do not be faint-hearted, do not dwell on yourself; do not say, “How did I let this happen?” This is the sound of proud self-opinion. On the contrary, humble yourself, and turning your spiritual eye to the Lord, say: ‘What else could be expected from me, O Lord, such a weak and immoral person?’ And right then thank Him that the sin stopped there.
